Regina King to next Direct Bitter Root,Comic Movie Set in the Harlem Renaissance

Regina King is returning to comic book adaptations after her Emmy-winning role in HBO’s Watchmen and directing the historical drama One Night in Miami. King has been tapped to direct Bitter Root, a film based on the same-named Image Comics series.

Bitter Root is set in 1924 during the Harlem Renaissance and follows a family of monster hunters who must protect New York City from an evil force that threatens to turn humans into monsters. The Sangeryes family, as the last of their species, must choose between saving or destroying the invading monsters.
