In the first images from Hulu’s upcoming limited series Pam & Tommy, Lily James and Sebastian Stan take on the roles of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.The streamer is teaming up with writers Rob Siegel and DV DeVincentis for a satirical take on the real storey behind the release of the first-ever viral video in history: the former couple’s infamous sex tape, which was released on Friday.
The eight-episode film, which was picked up to series in December, follows the relationship of then-Baywatch star Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Lee, who married less than a week after they met in 1995. Their house was broken into, and a video of them having sex during their honeymoon was stolen and distributed online. The distributor, Internet Entertainment Group, was sued by Anderson and Lee, and a settlement was reached.
The series does not feature Anderson or Lee. Seth Rogen, who plays Rand, the tape thief, executive produces the show alongside his Point Grey collaborator Evan Goldberg. The studio is Annapurna Television. The film will be directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya; Disney+’s Cruella). Nick Offerman plays Uncle Miltie, a porn impresario; Taylor Schilling plays Rand’s wife; Andrew Dice Clay plays a mafia guy; Pepi Sonuga plays Pam’s best friend; Spencer Granese plays Steve Fasanella, Miltie’s colleague; and Mozhan Marn plays Gail, a powerful publicist.
