SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A brush fire in East Tennessee has authorities asking people to evacuate the area.

People in the Wears Valley community near Hatcher Mountain Road and Indigo Lane should leave, WVLT-TV reported, citing a statement from the Sevier County Emergency Management Agency.

The brush fire sparked Wednesday morning and drew responses from multiple agencies as it burned a cabin in the rural area and threatened others, the station reported, citing the Sevier County Fire Department and the Tennessee Division of Forestry. Video showed gray smoke rising from a forested area.

Warm temperatures, low humidity and strong winds have increased the risk of fire danger, the emergency agency said.

No injuries have been reported.
